When you invite people on the internet to say what they think, don’t expect anyone to hold back.

Such is the case with the first flood of reader reviews of Kim Kardashian’s ‘book’ of selfies, released last week.

While many fans describe it as a “literary masterpiece” and “a great coffee table book”, critics have delivered various harsh assessments of Kardashian’s first foray into the world of publishing.

“As David Letterman would say, this is why the rest of the world hates us,” one reviewer wrote, giving Selfish one star.

Another comment: “A literary masterpiece! Worthy of being in the company of Bastiat and Hugo! The powerful visual imagery, coupled with her internationally acclaimed humanitarian, scientific and academic achievements will catapult her to historic international importance. Her book will go down in history as the defining moment of 21st Century social relevance and intellectual achievement. I have no doubt that this publication will soon join the Bible and the Koran as one of the world’s most influential books of all time!”
