I only restarted my Facebook presence about a week ago with a new page.
2, 200 new friends later, mainly creatives, photography lovers and music people from all over the world… but, of course, some idiots also.
Had to post this:
“I posted something about this a week ago, but it looks as though I must repeat myself:
I appreciate making contact with people on Facebook and adding new friends… and with few exceptions people Ive added recently are great.
However, some think I am obligated to stop my life and my work to answer unbelievably inane questions, most of which are answered on my profile.
If they didn’t bother reading my profile, why befriend me?
I’m sorry, if you are lonely and bored I simply don’t have the time.
I want to use Facebook to share something of value that might enrich you and I certainly want to be enriched myself. And make quality contacts should that happen.
So if I don’t respond to nothing communications that just waste time, you know why. It’s just noise. ‘Unfriend’ me, trust me I wont be offended.
The best question I get asked is “Are you on Facebook?” Usually followed by “what do you do?”
I feel compelled to add this quote, which always makes me smile:
“Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I’m not sure about the former.”
