Type “What is a normal vagina?” in Google and unlike the never-ending search for the clitoris, you’ll quickly find commentary on the root of the problem: women are comparing their tunnels of love to pornography.

And there is something fishy about where this insecurity is coming from.

Women don’t need to be watching adult films or flicking through men’s mags to make this comparison.

“They found 13 per cent of women had received negative comments from romantic partners about the appearance of their genitals,” researchers at the school of psychology at Flinders University.

So, psychologists are reporting men are making comments about their partner’s bits based on their porn-influenced ideas of how down under should look.
