From the article:
“More and more technophilic and commitment-phobic millennials are shying away from physical encounters and supplanting them with the emotional gratification of virtual quasi relationships, flirting via their phones and computers with no intention of ever meeting their romantic quarry: less casual sex than casual text.”
Non-IRL (non in real life)? Pathetic. Living your life as though you are in a video game : turn everything off when it gets too real, then start again with someone new.
One can only imagine how these people will cope when they do want to connect with a three-dimensional person who demands they be authentic and grow as a human being.
