IF YOU thought last year’s hacked celebrity nude photo scandal was bad, imagine what it would be like if the whole world knew your online porn viewing habits.
That’s the scary prospect raised by software engineer Brett Thomas, who outlined just how easy it would be for a hacker to reveal your online porn preferences in a post on his blog which was picked up by tech site Motherboard.
According to Thomas, the starting point for some hackers could be your web browser’s digital “fingerprint” — the unique combination of settings that you use when you’re surfing the web.
